Strawberry Matcha Latte
Made With Love
Do you love matcha in the morning—or maybe you’ve been wanting to try it, but haven’t quite found your way to enjoy it yet? If you’re into strawberries (especially when they’re on sale), this one’s for you.
This Strawberry Oat Milk Matcha Latte is a soft and sweet summer sip that’s as good for your mood as it is for your body. It’s got all the goodness of matcha, mellowed out with oat milk and brightened up with fresh strawberries.
It’s become one of my favourite daily rituals—whether I’m moving slow and barefoot in the morning, or needing a midday reset with something nourishing and energizing.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 tsp matcha powder (@drinkmatchamade_ is my go-to)
½ cup oat milk (or whatever milk feels good in your body)
2–3 fresh strawberries (a little squishy and ripe are perfect)
Hot water (around 70–80°C, any hotter and you’ll burn the matcha)
A chawan + chasen (if you have them—otherwise a small bowl + whisk works just fine)
Your favourite mug (clear glass if you want to admire the layers)
Optional: honey, maple syrup or your fave sweetener
Let’s make it together:
Squish the strawberries
Hull a few berries and mash them up with a fork. You want them soft and jammy. Add a touch of sweetness if you like! Sometimes I’ll add a bit of hot water (just a touch) and then add a little honey.Whisk the matcha
Add your matcha to a chawan or small bowl, pour in a bit of hot water, and whisk in a zig-zag until it’s smooth and frothy. Usually around 30 seconds is the sweet spot. Take your time, this is the best part.Froth or steam the milk
If you have a milk frother or steam wand, now’s the time to use it! If not, I like to heat the milk gently in a small pot on the stove until it’s warm and steamy—just before boiling. Then give it a little whisk by hand to get some light froth going. It adds a dreamy texture and makes it feel extra special.
Layer it up
Spoon those squished strawberries into the bottom of your glass. Add your milk, then pour in your matcha. Watch the colours swirl together—just magical.Garnish for good energy
Add a strawberry slice on the rim if you're feeling fancy. Maybe a couple extra on the side. Sip slow. Breathe deep. Take some time for you, enjoy the ritual of preparing your morning brew with love and care.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
With love,
CJ
